Drobo is the “first robotic storage device that takes the pain out of keeping your content safe.” I wish the site/company was a little more liberal with the technical details (e.g., what RAID level it’s modeled after, its max throughput, etc.), but honestly, call your machine a “data robot” and I’m pulling out my AMEX card before you even tell me what it does. While $500 is a bit steep for a datastore that ships with no drives and lacks gigabit ethernet, it still looks like a very polished product (be sure to watch the impressive demo) capable of providing priceless peace of mind.
